We have a very active Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A) called the Wellow School Association (W.S.A) which raises thousands of pounds each year to buy equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education.
But it is much, much more than just fundraising! The W.S.A creates closer links between home and school, and brings staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school. And it’s fun!
All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available. Not all events are run purely as fundraisers. For example, firework night is run with the aim of providing the children and their families and friends with enjoyment and to develop a community spirit.
If you would like to join the WSA or be a ‘helper’ at our events please contact any of the committee members.
Jo Parsons & Hannah Boyd – Joint Chairs
Bethan Larcombe – Teacher Representative
Alex Jupe – Treasurer
Vicky Jackson – Secretary
Lisa Lewis, Lucy Sheffield, Rachael Saunders, Kellee Hayes, Laura Barnard, Melanie Corlass, Kirsty Parsons, Sarah Smith, Eleanor Hunt, Louise Cox, Shelley Lewis, Nina Darling and Donna Taylor.
If you would like to contact a member of the WSA please email them on email@example.com.
What events do the WSA put on?
There are a whole host of different events put on for the children, the parents and together as a whole family;
- All the school disco’s for the children
- The Summer Fair
- Mothers Day and Fathers Day sales
- Annual Fireworks Display
- Termly cake sales
- Car Boot Sales
At committee meetings we plan what events we want to run, who can organise them, who will help, and how we will spend the money that has been raised.
We are registered with the easyfundraising.org.uk website, the WSA regularly receive cheques as a result of parents using this website to navigate to sites they then purchase online from. In the time we have been registered, the parents who use the easyfundraising website have raised a considerable amount of money. Please remember to keep doing this – it really is money for nothing! Thank you.
